(TTB - Thought to be)
After my father identified 6 of the people in the photo and knowing their
dates of birth,
we have been able to deduce that the photo was probably taken in late summer
1914.
The most likely day would have been the August Bank Holiday that year.

LATEST UPDATE ***
The following information has come to light via Cousin David.
(June 2008)
revealing the reason behind this notable family picture.
From the "Grocers Gazzete," July 18th 1914
Mr. Charles Pinnock, of Smithfield Market and Finsbury Park, gave a garden party a few days since
in the grounds adjoining his residence in honour of his brother William, also of Smithfield Market, attaining his seventieth year.
Only the descendants of the late Mr. George Pinnock, of Pimlico, S.W.,
150 in number - four generations - were invited and considerably over 100 were enabled to be present.
The toast of the evening was proposed by Mr. A. Pinnock, of Pinnock Bros., Holloway,
and that
of Mr. Charles Pinnock by Mr. Ralph Pinnock.
These were suitably responded to, and after a photo of the party had been secured,
the family spent a most enjoyable, never-to-be-forgotten time in the cool of a summer evening.
